Emirate of Ajman

The Emirate of Ajman is a major hub in the UAE's entity, through its role in the initiative of the Union and its geographical location. It is located within the Northern Emirates overlooking the Arabian Gulf and the middle of the Emirate of Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain. It covers an area of 260 square kilometers. To 600 km. The emirate includes the cities of Musfout and Manama, as well as the city of Ajman, which is the capital of the headquarters of the Governor's Office and the headquarters of the departments and government institutions. Within three decades, Ajman has been able to be the investment front in the region, opening a window to the world through trade and industry and supporting investors with a set of laws and regulations to achieve the vision of wise leadership.

People of ِAjman Emirate

Ajman’s culture is steeped in exceptional hospitality. It is an inherited tradition borne out of the austere natural environment and the resulting emphasis on receiving and providing for guests. While times may have changed and the complex codes of hospitality of the forefathers may no longer be practised, sincere generosity is still shown throughout everyday life in Ajman today.

Manama area

Located in the plains at the foothills of the Hajar Mountains to the east of Ajman, Manama is about an hour's drive from city centre. It has a quiet, residential feel, making it a popular getaway for city dwellers. 

Masfout area

Known for its fertile agricultural land and high-quality marble, Masfout is in the south of the UAE near Hatta, a 90-minute drive from Ajman city. Its elevated altitude brings cooler temperatures and the rugged backdrop attracts outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers

The Ajman Executive Council was established under the Amiri Decree #4 of 2003 to perform a leading role in developing general policies and strategic plans in Ajman.

About the Council:

The council aims to upgrade all governmental services to the highest standards of quality and excellence, which will highly benefit the locals and residents of Ajman. His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, the Ruler of Ajman issued the Amiri Decree #4 of 2014 regarding the restructuring of Ajman Executive Council to reinforce infrastructural updates and stay abreast with the latest developments.

Role of the Council:

Regarded as the supreme executive authority, the council assists the Ruler of the emirate in managing local government affairs according to the directives of the Ruler and within the boundaries of the council’s jurisdiction. Moreover, the council is granted full legal and juridical capacity to undertake all necessary legal actions required to achieve its objectives.
The Council shall work within a qualified organization with sufficient powers to supervise and monitor the performance of the governmental structure in the emirate, to help in laying the foundation of Shura principles, mutual responsibility between the ruler and the citizens and joint liability between governmental departments and establishments.

Objectives of the council:

•   Assisting the Ruler in enhancing and maintaining security, order, and justice in the emirate
•   Striving to enhance the efficiency and productivity of local departments in the emirate, ensuring the optimal provision of all public facilities and services
•   Ensuring the implementation of the emirate’s vision and its strategic plans that aim at achieving comprehensive and sustainable development in all economic, social, educational, health, environmental and cultural fields
•   Taking care of the interests of locals and residents, working towards elevating their economic and social status to achieve social happiness and welfare, while ensuring a decent human life.
