Impounded Vehicle Release

A government service that allows the customer to inquire about impounded private vehicles that were left behind and neglected across various facilities around the Emirate and request their recovery after payment of fees.

Required Documents

    Individuals

  • Copy of vehicle ownership, papers of vehicle possession or export, or vehicle data from Traffic Services and Licensing Center

  • Copy of passport (Mandatory for the visitor)

    • Business

  • Copy of vehicle ownership, papers of vehicle possession or export, or vehicle data from Traffic Services and Licensing Center.

  • Official authorization letter from the company to the Municipality & Planning Department.

  • Letter of authorization from the State courts approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Justice.

  • Letter from Traffic Department in case the car has no ownership.

    • Government Entities

  • Copy of vehicle ownership, papers of vehicle possession or export, or vehicle data from Traffic.

  • Official letter from the government entity to the Municipality and Planning Department delegating the person concerned with releasing the impounded vehicle

Process

  • 1 Submit the request through the Public Services Department .
  • 2 Approving or rejecting the transaction
  • 3 Paying the fees electronically
  • 4 Receiving the impounded vehicle release certificate
  • 5 Receiving the vehicle from impounded vehicles service center

Service fees

  • Custody and guarding of the abandoned vehicle (per day, and any part of a day shall be considered a full day) – AED 50

  • Release of the abandoned vehicle – AED 500

  • Issuance of a “To Whom It May Concern” certificate – AED 100

  • Transfer of a light vehicle from the place of impoundment in Ajman City to the impound lot – AED 100
